Drink Recipe – The Loop Cocktail

Normally in the end of September I would be thinking of Fall-ish drinks, but it was still 86 degrees and 80% humidity in Savannah in 2012. So I continued to make Summery drinks!

The Loop is another drink posted on New Amsterdam‘s Facebook page that I can’t find a link for now, but it looked good so I wrote it down. I made this on September 29, 2012.

This drink is sort of like a shandy. It called for light beer, but instead I used Sweetwater Pale Ale (it was local to the area at the time!) and it came out really well. We had just had a really fun weekend of cocktail-testing so we only had enough gin to make one, but we all tried it and agreed we need to add it to the rotation and make it more often.

The Loop

1.5 ounces gin

3 ounces light beer (or pale ale!)

4 ounces lemonade

Fill a highball or pilsner glass with ice. Pour in all ingredients and gently stir, and garnish with a lemon wheel.

Yum! Definitely need to make this again. Cheers!
