Drink Recipe – Lavender Whiskey Sour

From August 18, 2012. Dried lavender was super difficult to find in Savannah, but I really like the flavor of lavender. I had a lavender lemonade martini at a wonderful, classy restaurant in Illinois earlier that summer and had been trying to track down a recipe to recreate it. By the time I found the lavender, I bought all the store had and was determined to find other uses for it as well. I found this recipe on Martha Stewart Weddings.

Lavender Whiskey Sour

2 ounces whiskey

1 tablespoon lavender sour syrup (see recipe below)

Fill an 8 ounce glass with ice, then pour the whiskey over the ice. Add the lavender sour syrup, and then stir to combine. Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig and serve immediately.

SOOOO good. Cheers!
Lavender Sour Syrup

Bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup sugar to a boil over medium heat, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Reduce heat to low and add 1/4 cup lavender. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain the mixture, and add lemon juice to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
